she bends with the trees

My reason for posting this particular image lies solely in the fact that I like the way the curve of the little girl’s back mimics the curves of two large oak trees behind her, and the way she‘s “rooted“ to the ground, yet flexible….willing to bend. Just like the oaks. When photographing a toddler, whom you can’t typically pose, plan for, or predict where they might land…..I find an odd satisfaction in these kind of synchronistic moments. As if they speak to an underlying harmony and perfection of the universe that is always evident if only we look in the right places.

But then again, this wasn‘t an image the mom chose to purchase, so what do I know anyway?!
