a better view

If able to get a handle on the exposure thing, little kids would inherently make excellent photographers. They simply don’t allow imagined physical limitations, overwhelming obstacles, rules, or expectations of others to get in the way of how and what they’d like to see and experience. They climb, jump, stoop, squat, race toward, peak around, slither low, turn upside down, squeeze through, grab and run, or whatever else it takes to get closer to life, to mix up their perspective and viscerally absorb that which intrigues them.
So it stands to reason that to be a better photographer one needs to reconnect with these childlike qualities that we all still own but may have lost touch with. No self-imposed rules, no limits, no preconceived expectations of how things should go. Learning to see always with virgin eyes and a wide open heart.
Wait a minute, isn’t this also what might make us better livers of life? (Made up usage of the word “livers”……but it could easily be replaced with “lovers of life” if offended by grammar mangling.)
