The trouble with returning from an absence or making any sort of a “come back” appearance is the feeling that doing so requires making a grand entrance. Regularly showing up gives the comfort of knowing “spectacular” isn’t required. You give a little piece of yourself with the understanding that another little piece will follow soon after. A slow and steady process of building something. But stay away too long and you’re left with the feeling that it’s back to square one and you’ve something to prove all over again.

Of course we’re not here to prove anything. We forget that sometimes. We mistakenly believe we’re in a race to achieve or accumulate **something** that will finally give our lives meaning. When actually it’s the meaning and attention we assign to our very ordinary everyday moments that determines the particular fragrance of our life and capacity for lasting joy. Simply being is enough………..it’s everything.

Thanks for the emails and calls encouraging this non-spectacular return. Ü
