skateboard kid with good hair

skatekid.jpg

An example of how the small mind operates:

Pretty much the entire time I was looking through the viewfinder and photographing this cute skateboard kid I had a running dialog in my head about his hair.

“He has really good hair.”

“I wish my hair was the texture of his, I like the way it sort of cascades towards his shoulders.”

“I wonder if I had my hair cut in a similar way, would it look as good as his….nah, it wouldn’t.”

“I wish my hair was that color…..and look at those highlights.”

“It’s cool how his hair frames his face like that. I think I should cut my hair.”

“I wonder who cuts his hair……do I dare ask?”

“He has really good hair.”

It’s a sad commentary, isn’t it? And you might have imagined my thoughts to run a bit deeper than that, eh? Well, I suppose we all have our moments of apparent small-mindedness, and hair envy will do it to me most every time. Ü
