the naked pianist

pianist.jpg

When a photo session has gone on a bit too long and is intruding on a toddler’s naptime, sometimes the only way to grab a few final shots before leaving is to focus only on the subject’s backside, which conveniently conceals tired eyes and cranky attitudes. Even so, this shot was difficult to pull off in the way I intended since the ornery little guy was mostly interesting in climbing inside the piano rather than playing it, and not taking kindly to any sort of direction from me or mom. Adding to the challenge was attempting to strategically avoid all the holiday decorations still in place so as not to make the image seasonal.

I think I attempted about 75 shots here, of which maybe 3 will be worthy of including in the proof selection. With odds like that for a single subject, it’s time to pack up and go home. Which I did. Ü
