the end

theend.jpg

Everyone involved was tired by the time we reached this point, so I declared the shoot was finished. I turned to put my camera down and shut off the strobe when I glanced once more at my weary subjects. When just a moment before there’d been stress and fussiness, they now looked so peaceful and content with the pressure of the shoot off them. I whispered to the mom, “stay there just like that”, powered on the strobe, grabbed my camera and took this one final shot.

So many times the sweetest little moments occur just when we think something is over and done. There must be something to this, something magical that happens only when we truly let go. Perhaps a space opens up, giving breathing room for something to enter that couldn’t possibly prior when we‘d filled it to capacity with all our expectations.
