photographing the artists

 
Even though I’ve only done so casually when happening upon them on the street, I’ve decided I really do enjoy photographing musicians and other artists, and think I’d like to pursue this more thoughtfully in situations where I can control the lighting and background/foreground to a greater degree. I realized that observing artists in the act of creating is very much like watching children at play, which of course I’m intensely drawn to. I love the focused state of being, the uncensored emotion, and inner joy so readily apparent in those who are in the midst of doing something that their spirit passionately calls them to do.

I wonder if the same might be said of me as I’m photographing the artists.
