quiet cowboy

It’s possible that I like this simple image most because of just how challenging it was to get this little cowboy quiet and still. Really a kid photographer should get extra credit points for wrangling some of the wild broncos we come across at photo shoots. A semi-good photo should actually move up to good photo ranking based on effort extended to attain the shot of the ever elusive subject, dontcha think? Well I do.

But the truth is I‘d much rather be right here–ready and patiently waiting in front of this bucking little brocho for the moment he finally stills and we make connection–than in front of a cooperative fashion model any day. For his few years lodged in this beautiful physical form assures me that he’s in fact closer to the essence of life than I am, and it’s there that I crave to be as often as possible.
