drum

I was preparing to lock up the studio and head home a couple of evenings ago when I thought I heard the sound of a drumbeat. I walked up front, looked out the window and right there in front of my studio a small drum circle had formed, and they were beginning to play. Several summers ago while staying in Asheville I loved attending the weekly drum circles that were held there, but never thought to find such a thing in my area. So to discover this group parked practically at my door was such an awesome surprise!

I love the diversity that a drum circle attracts. I love the flowing rhythmic beat and great energy of it all. But mostly I just love the peaceful feelings of unity the circle seems to invoke in everyone who happens upon them. It was fun to move through it all with camera in hand, and I look forward to being present the next time they gather to play.
