random girl on the 4th of july

I’m getting more comfortable with street photography and find it to be a great way to clear my head from client shoots, and maintain enthusiasm for this craft I love so much. You’re thinking this doesn’t look like street photography? This waterfront area was packed with people partying and waiting for the fireworks display to begin, where I actually had a hard time standing still long enough to grab this shot in a street of quickly moving people.

What makes me smile in viewing this image is the fact that during a time of blaring music with accompanying sirens, crowds of intoxicated people constantly bumping into each other, and the nauseating smell of funnel cakes and grilled sausages, I fashioned for myself a quiet and peaceful representation of the evening.

So we do in fact create our own reality. Ü
